2023 Brooklyn Tech Reads!

Join us for a community-wide BTHS Summer Reading Challenge Bingo.

Sponsored by the BTHS Library, the PA, and Alumni Foundation!

The Brooklyn Tech community--students, staff, parents and alumni--can participate by reading at least three books in special categories this summer. At the end of the summer, winners in each group above will be selected by raffle for Brooklyn Tech merch!

Sign up to participate by July 5th to get your online bingo board submission form and let us know that you plan to participate. Then read three books in adjacent squares (vertically, horizontally, diagonally, or in an L shape). These boxes do not have to be a straight line.

  • The challenge starts on June 20th and goes until Labor Day, September 4th.

  • Books included should be started and completed in this time-frame.

  • One book can only count for one category, even though it may fit in many! And each book can only be used in one bingo submission.

  • Any YA or adult books qualify.

  • You may submit up to three completed bingo boards online for our drawing for Brooklyn Tech merch by September 4th. Each board must represent three unique books.

  • This is an initiative to encourage reading and community. Please interpret the rules the best you can with that aim in mind!

Each line represents three unique books in three categories:

Access to Books: Students and staff, we invite you to check out ebooks and audiobooks through Brooklyn Tech’s eLibrary app Sora. Incoming 9th graders should have access when DOE updates their school in the system mid-summer.

Check out our amazing collection on Sora and see the Summer Reading list for each grade level:

New to Sora?

  • Use the Sora Overdrive app. Look for the green button and use your DOE login credentials.

  • View this tutorial to set preferences to see YA and adult books, add libraries, and more!

Additionally, as a New Yorker, you can get all library cards from all three public library systems, and enjoy your freedom to read print books, ebooks, and audiobooks.

Questions, comments?

Please contact your BTHS Librarians, Ms. Drusin, Ms. Ferguson, and Ms. Kaplan at library@bths.edu. Be aware that communication during the summer will be limited.
