Remember summer? Remember summer reading? We hope you are finding some time for yourself and your reading now that school is back in session!

195 people signed up to participate in this year's challenge, and 116 submitted bingo boards.
10 people read all 9 books in our categories (some read more than 9!)
The comments were very positive from students, staff, and parents!
9th graders made up about 53% of student participants, and the rest were evenly divided by grade
We held a random drawing from entries and have some winners! Four randomly chosen student winners are:
Ashley L.
Kelly B.
Lucas A.
Rita Y.
Our staff winner is Melissa Greene!
Our Parent winners are Patrick J. Sauer and Aloke Mukherjee!
A special thanks to Mr. Newman and the PA for co-sponsoring.
Some comments from participants:
I would do this challenge again because it allowed me to branch out into different genres that I don't normally read.
Loved all the books, and the reading challenge encouraged me to read much more this summer than usual!
I loved The Grapes of Wrath, especially its portrayal of how women are the actual glue of the family and show endurance during hard times like the dust bowl.
I thought We Are Not Free was very informative and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the experiences of the 14 Japanese Americans during their time at Japanese Internment Camps and beyond. The book provided a great insight into the inhumane treatment and horrible conditions at the internment camps.
I would definitely do it again! I am a person who loves reading and having a goal and an outline to find and read books was super fun! Rupture was an incredible murder mystery set in Iceland that I would definitely recommend. This is my first board, but I think I will do more.
This is my second submission form and probably my favorite book here is I Fell In Love With Hope for how delicately and considerately it dealt with trauma and heartache. This book is also in my top ten!
We hope you will join us next year!
